Artist Page – Ewan Jansen

Residing on the west coast of Australia, Ewan Jansen made his mark on house music between 1997-2001 via some of the 12 locally-released lathe and vinyl releases on his label Red Ember Records. While some of these records eventually found their way off the island (awaiting the future clutches of discogs), Ewan made appearances on the legendary US deep house labels Trackmode Recordings and Deep4Life with his first album released in 2004 through Moods & Grooves. The year also marked the start of a decade-long hibernation from producing. In early 2015, inspired by trio of archive diving sessions with cult European labels Hardworksoftdrink, Seekers and Going Good, brand new tracks found their place on Inner Shift Music, IILE, Freerange Records, Inner Balance and Australia’s own Butter Sessions. Red Ember Records also returned with Ewan kick-starting the 15 year break with the sublime Aqua Libre EP. Whilst busy operating Red Ember Records, sub-label Deepsounds and his new imprint Hubplate, Ewan began performing live again with past European tour stops including The Ghost at The Pickle Factory London, Seekers at Hoppetosse Berlin, Kommuna Barcelona, Ibiza and Red Ember Records showcase Aktive Funken! featuring friends and label mates Dan Curtin, Alex Picone, Justin Zerbst & Goiz.
