Description
Another special thanks to our friend Gene Hunt for the classic Gene style record, again breaking rules but staying on the Chicago house and funk stream. This release fits right in line with the Inner Shift discography. But ‘Chicago house’ might be somewhat of a generic description for this release, because it goes in somewhat of a different direction as it features emotive, entrancing atmospherics throughout ‘Kayla Dream’. Then flip sides for a very soulful, abstract broken beat cut featuring stunning vocal work by Laffeyette Parker in ‘Open Up your Eyes’. But of course you still get one of Genes harder more edgy tracks with some serious drum machine work on ‘Distant Voyage’. If you missed this there are still some vinyls available here, don’t let it pass you by.
